GMC SERVICE IN WILMINGTON & MILLSBORO
We've had more than 120 GMCs through our two shops in the last two years, mostly 2005 to 2022 models. Acadias lead, then Sierra 1500s and Terrains.
Each one has a Chevrolet sibling. The Sierra shares its engineering with the Silverado, the Terrain with the Equinox, and the first-generation Acadia (2007–2016) with the Traverse. So most of what we know from 440+ Chevrolets applies to your GMC too.
The jobs GMC owners bring us most are oil changes, brakes and check engine light diagnosis. Gasoline GM engines from the 2011 model year on call for a dexos-approved oil, and we check the exact spec for your engine every time. Older 2.4-liter Terrains share the Equinox's reputation for using oil between changes, so check the dipstick between visits.
For the rest of the GM family, see our GM page.

ASKED & ANSWERED

The Acadia, Sierra 1500 and Terrain, mostly 2005 to 2022 models.
Mechanically they're very close, sharing engines, transmissions and most parts. The differences are mostly styling and trim.
Gasoline GM engines from 2011 on call for a dexos-approved synthetic. The grade depends on the engine, so we look it up before every oil change.
Yes. It's one of the jobs GMC owners bring us most. We read the codes and tell you what we find before any repair.
