What makes Buckley's Auto Care different from other shops?
At Buckley's, we're more than just a business; we're a legacy. Founded on July 6, 1966, by Gene Buckley – a championship racer and former Firestone regional manager – our roots run deep in Delaware. What started with Gene's passion for cars and commitment to excellence has grown into a multi-generational family business, currently owned by Greg Buckley. In 2026, we'll proudly celebrate 60 years of serving our neighbors, a testament to our enduring commitment to quality and trust.
We're a family- and veteran-owned shop, and that means we treat every customer like family. Our technicians are all ASE-certified, meaning they’ve passed rigorous tests to prove their expertise in automotive repair and service. We're also an AAA Approved Auto Repair facility, meeting strict standards for service quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. Plus, as a NAPA Auto Care Center, nearly all our repairs are backed by a nationwide 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty, giving you peace of mind wherever your travels take you. We believe in doing the job right the first time, and standing behind our work.

How often should I bring my car in for service?
This is a great question and one we hear often! The best answer is to follow your vehicle manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, which you'll find in your owner's manual. Modern vehicles often have service indicators, but a general rule of thumb for most cars is to have an oil change and basic inspection every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
Beyond oil changes, regular inspections of your tires, brakes, fluids, and belts can catch small issues before they become big, expensive problems. We recommend a comprehensive inspection at least once a year, or before a long road trip. Our team can help you create a personalized maintenance plan based on your vehicle's age, mileage, and your driving habits. Think of it like a regular check-up for your health – preventative care is always the best approach.
