I have been in the business for almost 31 years. Ever since I waited on my first customer when I was 8 years old and did my first oil change at 10, I have enjoyed everything about it. I get a very special feeling when I know I've helped someone get to their destination in a safe dependable vehicle.

Although, my background is in the automotive field, I also served a a staff sergeant in the Air Reserve at Dover AFB, where I was a Jet Engine Technician. Working the flightline with those C-5's was a tremendous experience. It introduced me to new technology and allowed me to travel through Europe. And talk about teamwork!"

When I'm not furthering my business education and technical skills, my family and I like to travel. We vacation in a different place every year just to see something new. Of course, my golf game always needs improving.

I'm the youngest of the bunch and that can be a little rough at times. I'm always taking the heat for being "the baby" of the business. But I have been involved since I as 10 years old. I really enjoy meeting people and getting their vehicles "just right". It takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to keep up with the latest technology, but when the customer gives me that smile and a "thank you", it makes it all worthwhile.

I got involved in automotive repair when my dad was in his racing hey-day. He needed a pit crew so he started "Buck's Boys". That was it. I was officially in. Of course, all I was allowed to do was wash and wax the car and polish the wheels, but it was a start. I felt that my "wax job" made the car so slippery, it took at least three seconds off the the time.

When I'm not at the shop, you can catch me behind the grill. That's right, I'm an Emril wanna be, recipes and all. Everyone wants "me" to do the barbecuing when it's picnic time. I can make a mean steak. And when it comes to crabs... forget about it. I know how important it is to be heard. That's why I like keeping in contact. I'm the person who always stays in the office. I really tease the technicians when it's cold out or when it's hot enough to fry an egg. Seriously though, I'm the one in charge of keeping our business on the straight and narrow. It's not easy keeping up with those two! But I have fun. While in the office, I get to meet our customers and listen to the stories they share. I also listen to their car problems too! It's important for our customers to be heard. The better the information I get, the easier it is for our technicians to figure out the problem.

I started behind the scenes helping our mom with the bookkeeping. It didn't take long for me to get used to working with numbers. As I got older I helped dad sell water ice at the snack shop. I always said, "I made the best water ice on Maryland Avenue." Lots of lemons! From selling water ice I progressed to Wilmington Trust working in the audit and trust department, which helped my accounting skills tremendously.

It's not all numbers though. At heart I love to bake. Cakes, desserts and as my brothers say "the best cheesecakes" in the world. In fact, there was a time where I had my own catering business, but time and family took its toll. Now, I'm a black belt in karate. It's really hard, but fun.
