Gene Busckey | Buckley's Inc.

On July 14, 1966, our father, Gene Buckley, opened our garage doors for the very first time in order to fulfill his desire to help his community. His expertise in automotive repair, as proven in his championship racing days, and his well honed business skills learned while a regional manager for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company quickly lead to a very successful enterprise.

Never one to rest on his laurels, he continuously improved his automotive skills and made sure that his customers received individual attention and were treated with respect. His dedication and enthusiasm toward his customers and the community he served, won him many accolades throughout the decades. From major oil company awards for outstanding achievement, to being recognized as a leader in community action, each award is worn like a badge of honor and a sign of his uncompromising efforts.

From 1966 to the summer of 2006, we remained at our original location on Maryland Avenue. But when opportunity knocks, you have to answer. And as a company, we did. That fall we moved our business, our family and our company to our new address, 1604 E. Newport Pike, 19804. Here we have over 5 bays of floor space for more cars, a larger 1/2 acre lot, and an easily accessible location close to I-95 and all towns such as Newport, Elsmere, Pike Creek, Hockessin, New Castle, Newark and of course Wilmington.

Now, as we grow into our new location, we have the ability to expand into additional services to meet our clients expanding maintenance and repair needs. And with the help of our retail partner, NAPA, we are more than excited about the possibilities. NAPA provides us with local, regional and national branding tools along with franchise type systems, training and management support. All of these items are designed to make you, our client, the beneficiary of quality service, parts and warranties.

Now as the years go on, we’re set to continue the traditions and principles that have been proven and time-tested. They say times may change, as do faces, names and people, but customer care never should.
